Chief of War season 2

An official announcement regarding Chief of War season 2 has not yet been made by Apple TV+, but the show's creators have planned a continuation. The first season, starring Jason Momoa, was initially intended as a limited series, but the finale ended with several unresolved plot threads. 

What is known about a potential season 2
  • A decision is expected soon: In July 2025, producers stated they would learn in September if Apple TV+ would greenlight a second season, and possibly a third.
  • Strong cast interest: Cast members, including star and co-creator Jason Momoa, have expressed their hopes for another season and feel "very positive" it will happen, citing positive audience and critical reception.
  • Story has potential for expansion: The season 1 finale leaves the story open for further conflict, with the antagonist King Kahekili swearing to conquer Hawai'i himself. Co-creator Thomas Paʻa Sibbett noted that the story gets "bigger and bigger" from here.
  • Estimated release: Should the show be renewed, a second season is not expected until late 2026 or 2027, given the time needed for production.
